A historic campus with a new purpose
The Village’s own history records that construction began in 1883 and the hospital received its first patients in November 1885. Its Victorian-Italianate buildings and distinctive spires are part of an ongoing preservation and reuse project.
Use 830 Cottageview Drive as a starting reference, then check the exact business or tour meeting point you need. The campus includes multiple buildings and entrances; leave time to find your way before a timed reservation.
Choose the visit that fits your group
The Village directory is the place to check current shops, dining and events. You can make the outing as simple as a meal and a stroll, or set aside more time for its history. Business hours vary, and a campus event does not mean every shop will be open.
Official guided tours offer different experiences, including building and tunnel visits. Read the requirements for the particular tour before booking: the historic walking and twilight tours have different minimum ages, and some routes involve stairs, uneven surfaces and buildings that are not wheelchair accessible. Tunnel access is part of the appropriate guided experience, not an invitation to explore closed areas independently.
