The name is in part to Traverse City being home to the annual National Cherry Festival in the summer. The party starts at 10:00 PM when the giant cherry ball is lit up for everyone to see. Guests can expect a variety of entertainment options before the ball finally makes its final drop at midnight. After the ball has hit the bottom, a dazzling fireworks display will light up the sky.
